I have started a series I am calling River Dreams. The goal of my work is to use free flowing methods I have learned from studying watercolor to create special effects with dyes on silk. While watercolor has historically been used on textiles, most watercolors pigments are incapable of bonding with the fibers to create colorfast design. Additionally, the capillary action of the yarns in the textiles creates different effects than the fibers in water color paper (using cotton rag).
